Reviews

"Mackay-Smith as the dead mother delivers the stunningly beautiful grief that only a mother can convey."
Travis Manni, New England Theater Geek (The Housekeeper)
"Cringing from the next life while casting a dark shadow on the work of Adelina, Mackay-Smith as Carson is spot on with her depth and struggles of what she left behind."
Catherine Collins, Boston Events Insider (The Housekeeper)
"Mackay-Smith gives a delightfully eccentric performance as Carson, the ghost who wants to make friends with the housekeeper."
Ian Thal, The Arts Fuse (The Housekeeper)

"Ms. Mackay-Smith is stellar as the NASA geek who is lonely and repressed.  I recently saw this actor in a very different role in "The Real Thing," and she is so versatile that it took me until Act II to realize that this was the same actor portraying a very different kind of troubled woman."
Al Chase, The White Rhino Report (Distant Neighbors)
"NASA investigator Melanie Tomlinson (Gillian Mackay-Smith) is involved, interesting, and terribly funny."
Gillian Daniels, New England Theatre Geek (Distant Neighbors)
"Mussett gets terrific support from Mackay-Smith as his smug ex-wife."
Terry Byrne, Boston Globe (The Real Thing)
Best of all are Gillian Mackay-Smith's two turns as the legendary Pope Joan and her modern, masculinesque equivalent: both performances are luminously intelligent and eccentric.
-Thomas Garvey, The Hub Review (Top Girls)
Gillian Mackay-Smith is particularly compelling as Louise, a forty-six year old woman who has devoted everything to her job with very little to show for it.
Brian Balduzzi, My Entertainment World (Top Girls)
Mama Mystery, played by the powerful Gillian Mackay-Smith, is a sad shadow of a woman.
- India Pearl, Boston Events Insider (Outlaw Jean)
Mackay-Smith brings a deranged energy to her part, making Mommy seem insufferably self-justified even as her maternal desires draw her into piteous delusion.
- Killian Melloy, EDGE Boston (The Embryos)
Gillian Mackay-Smith is ferociously funny as the Christian fundamentalist Mommy.
-Beverly Creasey, Boston Arts Review (The Embryos)
